Hovercraft launched to search for missing person

Hoylake RNLI's hovercraft was tasked by UK Coastguard to conduct a search for a missing female in Leasowe Bay. The hovercraft was launched at around 10.00pm and in coordination with Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team, searched the shoreline and groynes from Dovepoint in Meols towards New Brighton. The casualty was soon located safely inshore by Merseyside Police and the hovercraft returned to station at 11.00pm to be washed down and made ready for service.
