Hovercraft launch to report of person cut off by tide

Hoylake RNLI were requested to launch by UK Coastguard following reports of a person cut off by the tide in Leasowe Bay. Hoylake Hovercraft 'Hurley Spirit' launched at 1.24pm and proceeded to the casualty's reported location, before it was identified as a kite surfer who had lost the wind. The hovercraft arrived on scene to find that the kite surfer had waded ashore safely and had been met by the Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team. The hovercraft returned to station at 2.30pm and the service was concluded as a call with good intentions.
