Unconscious person on board tall ship in Liverpool Bay

Hoylake Lifeboat was tasked by the UK Coastguard at 23:40 following reports of an unconscious casualty on board a tall ship in Liverpool Bay. The lifeboat, RNLB 'Edmund Hawthorn Micklewood', launched and was on scene within 30 minutes, where two lifeboat crew members were transferred onto the tall ship. The crew members established an airway to the casualty, who was then transferred to the lifeboat. UK Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 936 arrived on scene shortly afterwards and lowered its winchman/paramedic onto the lifeboat. The casualty was then airlifted into the helicopter and taken to Aintree Hospital, before the lifeboat returned to station to be refuelled and made ready for service.
