Lifeboat brought to 'immediate readiness' to assist tug in Crosby Channel

UK Coastguard requested that Hoylake Lifeboat launch to aid the 25m Tug "Venture", which had broken down and was drifting in the Crosby Channel. The Coastguard then downgraded the call to 'immediate readiness' and the crew prepared the lifeboat to launch. The Coastguard spoke to the tug over the VHF radio to establish the welfare of those on board. Once they were happy with the situation, the decision was made to stand the lifeboat down.
