Hoylake hovercraft was tasked by UK Coastguard to a 21ft speedboat with two persons on board that had suffered engine failure and had run aground in the Runcorn Bridge area of the River Mersey. The vessel had become stranded due to the ebbing tide. The hovercraft arrived on scene and the crew helped secure the vessel with an anchor, before taking the two persons to Liverpool Sailing Club slipway.
