Lifeboat brought to immediate readiness for aircraft emergency

At 13:59, UK Coastguard requested that Hoylake Lifeboat be brought to immediate readiness on report of an emergency at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. An aircraft with 6 persons on board experienced a problem on approach to the airport. The crew were paged and the Shannon Class lifeboat 'Edmund Hawthorn Micklewood' was made ready for launch, before the station was informed that the aircraft had landed safely. The lifeboat was then stood down.
