Hovercraft tasked to person in difficulty at water’s edge

At 7:41am, Hoylake Hovercraft was tasked following reports of a person in difficultly at the waters edge directly out form the lifeboat station. The hovercraft was stood down shortly afterwards on the arrival of other emergency services. The station was then used by Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team as a vantage point to observe the casualty. West Kirby Lifeboat was also tasked and their Hagland tractor brought the casualty ashore to a waiting ambulance.
