Hovercraft launched to two quad bikers stuck in mud on Crosby beach

Hoylake Hovercraft launched on service after being tasked by UK Coastguard to two quad bikers stuck in the mud on Crosby beach, near to the Coastguard Station.

The hovercraft arrived on scene and waited with the casualties and HM Coastguard Crosby at a safe location, as the tide was due to flood, until a tractor the casualties had arranged was able to reach them. Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team were also on scene to give support. The quad bikes were extracted from the mud and having made sure that the casualties were safely ashore, the hovercraft returned to station.
