Hovercraft launched to assist in search for missing person

Hoylake Hovercraft was tasked by UK Coastguard to assist with a multi-agency search for a person reported missing off the North Wirral coast. The hovercraft launched and was directed to search the beach between Dove Point slipway in Meols and Red Rocks.

The hovercraft then proceeded into the River Dee to search the shoreline off West Kirby and Thurstaston. While searching back towards the Hilbre Islands, it was confirmed that the casualty had been located and the hovercraft was stood down.
