Hovercraft tasked to 27ft yacht aground in Mersey in Runcorn area

Hoylake Hovercraft was tasked by UK Coastguard at 2.15pm after being requested by Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service & the North West Ambulance Service HART Team to assist with a 27ft yacht that had run aground on an ebbing tide. The vessel was in the Mersey estuary in the Runcorn area and had three people on board.

The hovercraft and her volunteer RNLI crew launched and headed to the scene. They were stood down shortly afterwards when it was reported that all three people had been brought ashore safely by our emergency service colleagues.
